No Pisco No Disco
A cultural and curatorial project developed in Berlin to present Chilean pisco through contemporary art, gastronomy and shared experiences.
No Pisco No Disco was conceived as a way to introduce Chilean pisco to new audiences in Germany from a cultural and artistic perspective, moving away from a conventional promotional format.
The project developed through different experiences. One of them took the form of an open-air event at Museumsinsel in Berlin, where pisco was presented within a public, social and cultural context.
Later, the concept evolved into an Art Dinner & Exhibition at Galerie erstererster. For this edition, Marjorie Chau invited artists to develop or present works specifically connected to pisco, using it as a starting point for different visual and conceptual interpretations.
The participating artists were Muriel Gallardo Weinstein, Noel Saavedra, Cornelia Lochmann and John Hodanny. Each artist approached the subject through their own artistic language, creating a group exhibition around pisco and the cultural, material and symbolic associations it could generate.
The exhibition was combined with a dinner featuring Chilean food and a pisco tasting. Art, gastronomy and conversation became part of the same experience, transforming the gallery into a space for cultural exchange.
Marjorie Chau was responsible for the overall concept, artistic direction, curation, selection of artists and venues, overall production and development of the gastronomic experience.

No Pisco No Disco explores how a product deeply connected to a culture can become a starting point for artistic creation and cultural exchange.
Instead of presenting pisco only as a drink or commercial product, the project places it within an artistic context, using it as a trigger for images, stories, artworks and experiences.
In the Art Dinner, this idea is developed through a group exhibition. Each invited artist interprets pisco through their own practice, creating different approaches to the same cultural element.
The project therefore creates a dialogue between art, identity, territory, gastronomy and social experience.
Food is also part of this construction. The Chilean dinner does not function simply as an accompaniment, but as another form of cultural transmission, allowing taste, image, conversation and pisco to coexist within the same experience.
Marjorie Chau’s research focuses on creating an environment where different disciplines and forms of encounter can coexist. In No Pisco No Disco, immersion is built not only through visual elements, but through a shared experience between art, space, food, drink and collective presence.
